Getting Involved   >   Social Justice Committee

The Blessed Sacrament Social Justice Team (SJT) began with the graduates of the JustFaith program. The vision of the SJT is that the social teachings of the Catholic Church will permeate all Blessed Sacrament’s ministries and that the entire parish will recognize social justice as everyone’s responsibility.

HUNGER BANQUET: A SUCCESS!

Our HUNGER BANQUET on March 9th was a great success!
Thank you to Shamrock Jacks and Bee-Licious Foods for
donating our meal and to everyone involved.

The banquet raised $192 dollars for Operation Rice Bowl and
gave every participant a greater knowledge of the distribution
of hunger and of what it feels like to have been born into another
set of circumstances.

The event was also covered by Channels 10 and 13 so we
reached an even broader audience than the 70 people that
attended, via television! We also had a nice write up in
the City Newspaper
.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”

Special Thanks to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Social Justice Committee, Atlanta, Georgia, for granting permission for us to use their website as a model.
