Communion Minister at Highland Hospital
Getting Involved   >   Communion MInister at Highland Hospital

Our Church has been invited to bring Holy Communion to Catholic patients at Highland Hospital on Sundays. This is a very rewarding ministry that is greatly appreciated by the patients at the  hospital. We send two ministers who each see about 15 to 20 patients. The timing is flexible so you can go after any on the Masses.
There are some requirements:

  • You must complete the Highland Hospital Volunteer Interview and Health form
  • Complete the mandatory Creating a Safe Environment Training offered by the Diocese of Rochester ( we hold these regularly at the parish),
  • Be a Trained  Communion  Minister in good standing with the parish
  • We also offer an annual training on "How to Visit' that you might like to take to enhance your understanding of the needs of people who are sick.
Please contact the parish staff to set up an initial interview.
